Hulk Hogan & Stone Cold

It now appears that Hulk Hogan is finally ready to start taking the first steps for a dream match against Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 25.

Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania 25

The Hogan family has been through alot in the last few years. You can say what you want about Hulk Hogan, but eventually you'll come to terms with the fact that he's one of the best businessmen that the wrestling industry has ever come across.

He knows where the money is, and knows when to go for it.

The first WrestleMania was headlined by none other than Hulk Hogan. Accordingly, with the 25th anniversary coming up this year, it undoubtedly makes sense that Hulk Hogan should, or would, try to appear on the show.

The First Step

Hulk Hogan finally took the first step in his plan when he called into a radio show where SmackDown Commentator Jim Ross was the main guest.

He talked warmly with JR, and informed him that he didn't like the proposed finish that the legendary announcer had come up with for his potential match against Steve Austin.

Earlier on the show, Jim Ross came up with an idea where John Morrison & the Miz would interfere in the match only to be beaten down by Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin. Afterwards, the two legendary wrestlers would share a beer in the ring - Lame.

The phone call-in conversation doesn't guarantee that anything will happen, but it is a first step in the right direction towards making the match a reality.

Putting Over

The biggest issue between these two iconic superstars was the fact that Hulk Hogan would not be willing to lose the match.

Stone Cold apparently does not wish to be in the match-up if he has to lose to Hulk Hogan, which is quite understandable considering their age difference right now.

Hulk Hogan confronted that issue, when he publicly stated that he would be more than willing to put Steve Austin over (let Austin win) in the match.

Then again, Hogan does have a history of using political powers to change the outcome of matches.

If the deal were to be officially signed-sealed and delivered, Vince McMahon would put a truck load of money into the marketing the match.

Once the marketing money has been spent, Hulk Hogan could hold Vince McMahon hostage by threatening to not go through with the match unless the outcome was changed.

Then again, Stone Cold knows how much leverage he has as well, so the political games may not work against him.

In the past, Stone Cold has shown a willingness to walk away from the company when things aren't going his way.

Last Thoughts

WWE really needs something big for WrestleMania this year.

A dream match between Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin at WrestleMania would definately put WrestleMania back on the map.
