Kelly Kelly addresses Andrew Martin's passing.

With the death of Andrew Martin (a.k.a. Test), WWE Diva Kelly Kelly, whom previously dated Test, has spoken out.

Andrew "Test" Martin passes away.

It comes as a great upset and complete shock, as for WWE Superstar Andrew "Test" Martin has passed away.


FIRST INFO

Andrew Martin was found dead in his apartment on March 13th, 2009 in Tampa, Florida.

Martin was 33 years of age. On the date of his death, he was only four days shy of his 34th birthday.


POLICE REPORT

Here is the official comment from the Tampa Police Department

"At approximately 8:00pm on Friday, March 13, 2009, Tampa Police Officers responded to the Post Harbour Apartments, located at 725 Harbour Place Drive to check on the welfare of Mr. Andrew J. Martin. A neighbor reported that she could see into his apartment through a window and that Mr. Martin appeared motionless for several hours.

Officers entered the apartment and discovered Mr. Martin to be deceased. At this time there is no indication of foul play. The deceased was transported to the Medical Examiners Office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The date of the autopsy is undetermined at this time. The next of kin has been notified of the death.

Andrew "Test" Martin is a former wrestling champion with the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment).

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Martin family. Such a shock to see Test pass away.

I'll always remember T&A (Test and Albert) with Trish Stratus as their manager - those were the days.

Ernest Miller explains how he got his role in The Wrestler and more!

Shasta McNasty (Brett Buchanan) welcomes everybody to BWR and kicks off the show by asking Ernest why he decided to become an actor. He said he felt like he wanted to try it and he was very lucky to get some opportunities. He said he was pitching around a TV show in LA and all of the TV channels he talked to told him he had a lot of charisma and should become an actor. His manager then called him and told him there might be a role open in "The Wrestler" since they had tried out actors but they thought it might be a better idea to get a wrestler who can act. He said he paid his way out to do the movie. He said director Darren Aronofsky asked him to put on some weight and he wanted The Ayatollah to look like he was 52, and that he looked too young.

Shasta then asked if he based his character on any wrestler. He said it was hard to base it on anything because it wasn't like just a wrestling show, there was a lot going on during the filming of the match so he couldn't get that into a character inspired by another wrestler. Shasta then asks how long it took for Miller to film his match with Mickey Rourke and the answer is sure to surprise everybody who listens. He said Darren took a lot of takes. Ernest then went off topic discussing watching American Idol. The Constant Gardener then asked Ernest if he'd ever release his Catbo tapes from the old WCW ads, and Ernest told a funny story about fans trying to get the tapes.

Ernest Miller then discussed WCW 2000 saying that it was very unique but it was pretty good. Shasta then said that WCW 2000 is far better than any current wrestling show. Miller then talked about Vince Russo saying he gave him a lot of freedom and was the guy who gave him his spot as Commissioner. They then talked about Russo's controversial 2005 BWR appearance and questioned the legitimacy of his new religious choices. Shasta then asked if Ernest still talks to Glacier, and he said he doesn't.

Sanford Gomph then jumps in and asks, "Why the Cat? Why not the Jaguar?" Ernest said a cat is very "quick and small." Gomph then says "that's why Ernest wears leopard print," and Gomph also says he wears leopard print too, on his bathing suit. Ernest then suggests that Gomph and Chris Kanyon meet each other and he also tells a hilarious story about hanging out with Kanyon at a recent autograph signing and a hilarious text message conversation they had. Ernest said Kanyon now "talks gay," but didn't "act gay." The conversation regarding Chris Kanyon is comical to say the least. Ernest also mentions that he highly respects Kanyon.

Ernest then talks about his admiration of James Brown and his untimely passing. Gomph then asks "The Cat" how it feels to be a 3 time world karate champion, Ernest then says Gomph sounds stupid and he wants to fight him and kick his ass. Gomph says he could take him and roundhouse kick him. Shasta then calms Gomph and Miller down. Ernest then says his Momma is in the other room and he will call her if he has to. He then says he wants to fly out Sanford Gomph as his invited guest to an upcoming Oscar party in Atlanta. Gomph says yes and that he will wear his leopard outfit and that he will bring the funk. Miller says to leave the funk, but to bring the ass, and that Kanyon can escort Gomph.

Ernest then discusses working with Mickey Rourke and said that the match they did in The Wrestler was very important and had to deliver or the whole movie could have been ruined. Shasta then mentions how unpredictable the match was and not knowing if Ernest's character The Ayatollah would stiff The Ram or not. Miller also said Rourke did a lot of his own stunts and that if it wasn't for him Rourke couldn't have done the match. He said Mickey ran the ropes like a Grandpa but that he is tough and has "balls of steel."�

Later in the interview The Constant Gardener jumps in and asks Ernest if he likes the Ohio Players and then Ernest sings them. Ernest says there's no way Gardener actually likes funk music. Gardener says he likes the Neville Brothers and Earth, Wind, and Fire and Ernest says he is a legit fan. A fan also sends in a message saying that he wants Ernest to make a cat purring sound, since he is "The Cat" and Ernest has an interesting response.

Ernest also talks about Vince McMahon's negative response to The Wrestler, meeting Nicholas Cage and why Cage left The Wrestler, filming The Wrestler at ROH shows, his upcoming role as George Foreman on an HBO special, more of his upcoming film projects, Matthew Perry's reaction to The Wrestler and his performance, working with Josh Matthews on WWE Velocity and why he was replaced so quickly by Bill DeMott, calling out Santa on Nitro, and much more in this 35 minute plus hilarious interview that has to be one of the best in BWR history.

FINAL THOUGHT

I went and saw The Wrestler last night - Fantastic film. I was surprised to see Miller in the film. Excellent work, excellent film.

Tommy Dreamer Leaving

It appears that Tommy Dreamer will be leaving the WWE this June.


THE DREAM[ER] IS OVER

Tommy Dreamer stated on ECW that if he doesn't win the belt by June, he will quit.

This work is actually true.

Tommy Dreamer's ECW contract does expire in June, and it appears that WWE are turning this into an "exit story" for him.


ORIGINAL ECW

If and when Tommy Dreamer leaves the company, he will be the last of the "ECW Originals" to leave, as well as the last person that was part of the official relaunch in 2006.


FINAL THOUGHT

Sad to see that Tommy Dreamer isn't renewing his contract. Then again, Dreamer has done alot of the wrestling business -- mostly in the original ECW.

I just hope WWE write up a proper article on Tommy Dreamer, and not just the copy and paste "we wish him all the best in his future endeavours" send off.

Chris Benoit's Doctor Trial Date Set

Dr. Phil Astin III, who was the Benoit family physician at the time of the Benoit double murder/suicide, will finally go to trial in Newnan, Georgia on Monday, March 16th, 2009. The trial was set to begin this month, but Astin requested a 90-day continuance from District Judge Jack T. Camp, and has received it.


DOCTORS ORDERS

Astin was originally indicted in July of 2007, and then more charges were brought against him last May. Astin is being charged with 175 federal counts of illegally prescribing prescription medication to 17 different individuals. Those charges are made up of 150 counts of illegal prescription abuse.

At least six of these patients are believed to be professional wrestlers, including ones working for WWE.

At the time of the indictment, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the patients allegedly received illegal prescriptions for the following drugs: Percocet, Oxycontin, Demerol, Lorcet, Ritalin, Vicodin, Xanax, Adderall and Soma.


DOCTOR WITH NO PATIENTS

The 17 patients are referred to by their initials in the indictment. Two of the patients are Oscar Gutierrez (Rey Mysterio), as well as former WWE wrestler Mark Jindrak, as the indictment includes previous charges related to distributing painkillers and other drugs to them.

When questioned about his involvement with Astin during an appearance on Fox News' Red Eye program in August 2007 promoting his wrestling return at SummerSlam a few days later, Mysterio said he was prescribed pain medication from Astin due to six knee operations. He also denied ever using steroids. Jindrak is currently living in Mexico City, Mexico, competing for the CMLL promotion under the name Marco Corleone.

Also listed in the indictment are the initials CMB and NEB, likely referring to Christopher Michael Benoit and Nancy Elizabeth Benoit. The initials MAB and RWH are also listed and believed to be well known pro wrestlers. MAB appears to be Buff Bagwell, who's real name is Marcus Alexander Bagwell. RWH is believed to be Hardcore Holly, who's real name is Robert William Howard.

In July 2007, ABCNews.com reported that along with Benoit, Jindrak, and Gutierrez, Bagwell and Holly had their medical records seized by federal agents from Dr. Phil Astin's office. Lex Luger was also named in ABC's report, but no charges regarding him were filed in the indictment.

The indictment lists Astin as prescribing drugs illegally to Chris Benoit from December 13, 2004 to June 22, 2007, the day Benoit killed his wife. Astin prescribed him 600 Lorcets and 600 Somas on December 13, 2004, which lasted approximately 19 weeks, before Astin gave him a refill on those same prescriptions, which lasted about four months. That was the regular pattern of dosages prescribed to Benoit every few months until his death.

The indictment notes that Nancy Benoit regularly received prescriptions for Lorcet, Xanax and Somas -- mainly Lorcet -- from June 6, 2005 to May 30, 2007. According to the indictment, Nancy usually got 75 tablets of Lorcet every 11 days to nine weeks, although on August 11, 2006, she got an undated prescription allowing her to get 600 tablets of Lorcet and 600 of Xanax, which lasted eight weeks. From then on out she was getting 150 Lorcet tablets per visit, but on March 12, 2007 and May 30, 2007, she was given 120 tablets at first with the ability for 240 additional tablets with refills.





THE RACK ON JINDRAK

According to the indictment, Jindrak regularly received huge quantities of undated prescriptions during his time in World Wrestling Entertainment, which lasted through July 2005. He was still being prescribed drugs well into his departure from the company. From April 29, 2004 to April 16, 2007, Jindrak received Percosets, Vicoprfen, Xanax, Lorcet, Soma and Adderall. After moving to Mexico City full-time in 2006, he would return to Atlanta every three months or so to visit Astin. On September 8, 2006, Astin prescribed Jindrak a total of 1,740 pills (120 Percosets, 90 Adderall, 600 Lorcets, 480 Xanax and 480 Soma), which lasted for three months. That was the usual pattern with his visits, every three months with the same number of pills. Although, Jindrak went through one batch in six weeks in December 2006-January 2007. On December 8, 2006, Jindrak received prescriptions for 1,770 pills and came back just six weeks later on January 19, 2007. That batch lasted for about three months before his next visit to Astin on April 16, 2007 in which he was prescribed 1,740 pills.

Regarding RHW, who is believed to be current WWE star Hardcore Holly, he was prescribed Percoset, Lorcet and Soma every few months, and was given undated prescriptions for almost everything else needed. On September 19, 2006, Astin prescribed him total of 2,550 pills.





BUFF DADDY

MAB, believed to be Marcus Alexander Bagwell, was regularly prescribed pain killers from Astin. On December 7, 2006, Bagwell received prescriptions for Percoset, Lorcet, Xanax and Soma totaling 1,680 pills and came back for a similar refill ten weeks later. Bagwell regularly visited Astin every eight to nine weeks up until his arrest shortly after Benoit killed his wife and son. Bagwell's last visit took place on June 14, 2007 and he was prescribed the same four sets of pills, as well as 60 40 mg. tablets of Oxycontin on the side.





MASK OFF MYSTERIO

Oscar Gutierrez (Rey Mysterio) also received undated prescriptions and post-dated prescriptions for either Percoset or Lorcet, although the dosages weren't as high as the other pro wrestlers. Since he lives in Chula Vista, California, he saw Astin less frequently than the other other wrestlers in question who all lived in the Atlanta area except for one. Since WWE's introduction of the Wellness policy in November 2005, he was only listed as having made two visits to Astin, which took place during the summer of 2006.

WWE wrestlers are only supposed to use primary care physicians for prescriptions, so it seems a little strange that Gutierrez's primary doctor is in an Atlanta suburb when he lives in Southern California. On June 28, 2006, Gutierrez was prescribed 120 Percosets, 150 Lorcets and refills allowed for 450 more Lorcets. He received a similar level of medication a few weeks later on July 20, 2006 -- three days before losing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Booker T at the Great American Bash.

The prosecution is also claiming that Astin's prescriptions led to the death of a patient, believed to be Mike "Johnny Grunge" Durham. Dr. Astin was the primary physician of Durham, and he wrote 32 of the 36 prescriptions written for Durham during the last year of his life. Durham passed away on February 16, 2006.

While the investigation started in light of the death of Chris, Nancy and Daniel Benoit, he hasn't been charged with anything relating to steroids even though Chris's levels were sky-high at the time of his death not to mention that he had several packages of steroids in his Fayetteville home. The toxicology report on Benoit showed that he had a testosterone level ten times above the normal level.


FINAL THOUGHTS

Just when I thought all the Benoit controversy was over, it pops back up.

I miss Chris, and these drug references are ruining both his memory and the sport of Professional Wrestling.

The media should know their role

And yes, they should shut their mouths as well.
